Joe made an announcement of a service that is useful to this list; that's fine. Others made comments on this list on whether or not that service was correct; that's kinda fine, since it is an alert to people who read Joe's response.
The rest of this thread is not appropriate for the mailing list. I would imagine that the people who run the feed validator can set up a mailing list of their own to discuss commit rights and procedures, and to discuss which tests match the desired goals of their project; if not, they can contact me and I'll set one up for them at IMC.
