If you really want this, don’t forget to to legislate this
expectation. Otherwise some people may devise clever (or
“clever”) stuff which breaks this expectation. Your example of
breaking

    atom:[EMAIL PROTECTED]'self']/@href = atom:[EMAIL PROTECTED]'last']/@href

is a perfect demonstration of how someone may do something legal
that may break (naïve?) expectations.
