As we reasoned the mythtv installation can be outruled as a cause. I
think the only cause that broke your setup is the reboot
itself. E.g. you probably did some config steps that didn't survie the
reboot.

Why did you reboot at all BTW? I think that might be the answer to
your issues.
 
Aren't settings normally saved? Wel it was late and i was going to bed, so it wasn't as much a reboot than a shutdown.
 
But if MythTV doesn't do anything to the ivtv settings, then i just don't understand at all why it before mythtv installation could modprobe with no problems, even if tda9887 was in modprobe.conf, and afterwards it complains about that same command - just don't understand it.
