I think that it could be a tip or a real link in Help's menu, where

I like that idea.
In more detail, for Audacity 2.2.2 we could have a new item in the help
menu, 'Translated Help'.
This would take users to an online page in the alphamanual, something
like this mock up:
https://alphamanual.audacityteam.org/man/User:JamesCrook/Translated_Help
This change to the help menu would though help users to find the work in
progress that is happening at the alphamanual. Does that sound a good
plan to you Dimitris?

The FAQ and Tour Guide from within the manual have the most value. It is
a huge undertaking to attempt to translate the whole manual, and personally
I think too much. The likely outcome is a very incomplete and patchy
translated manual - unless several translators are working on each
translated language.
The alphamanual translations of pages that have been done are visible to
Google, so people searching for answers in their own language should find
them. They are not wasted. Also, support people can and do point users at
the FAQ and Tour Guide, e.g. when we get requests for the manual in other
languages at Facebook. They are useful, even if the entire manual has not
been translated.
----
If we get translations of FAQ and Tour Guide, we may progress on to being
able to create custom language specific pdfs of FAQ + Tour Guide, in a few
languages, that users can download, and which we can host on FossHub
audacity.
I have recently finished part 1 of a project to allow a stand alone pdf
version of the manual, or sections of it, to be created. You can see how
that looks in the experimental (English) pdf of the 2.2.0 manual which can
be downloaded here:
https://www.fosshub.com/DarkAudacity.html
Conversion from wiki to pdf is now automated, so with some work we could
do it for other languages too. If Greek has more translated pages in the
wiki than other languages, it can be a bigger pdf manual.
BUT I do not think we are ready for that until we can also include
translated screenshots too. With Peter (on the manual) I have been working
at automating collection of screenshots. That is not ready yet. Lots of
work to do still. However, when it is ready we would be able to collect
translated screenshots (using the .po files), so that the wiki pages and
pdf manual would have translated screenshots too.
----
The .po files are the most important translation.
If the wiki translations of the manual do progress, then I favour the pdf
route to give them more visibility.

Hi,
I'd like to know what is the use of translating the manual since nobody can
see it in the app? or I miss something?
