Yes, the Famicom is the Japanese equivalent of the NES, like the Dendy is the Russian equivalent of the NES. I have both the Famicom and the NES, plus the Famicom Disk System and games for it. I often take my Famicom to school for celebrations in my computer lab, where we can bring our own consoles.
