@phil: you are joking, but look at announced jaws 15 new features: they were clearly inspired by what VO does on iphone to implement their new tactile interface for Windows 8 smartphones and tablets. Except that, of course, they have still long way to catch up.
In fact, one of the problems of jaws is that FS essentially slept for a couple years and didn't make real progress. Now they slightly begin to get up, but they are late. It seems that it's common for a company to fall asleep for a while when they become too big. For another example, look at Microsoft and IE6: now they are always catching up.
The same happens to FS: jaws is already largely out of the game on mobiles, still on lead for PC, but NVDA will soon surpass it if they continue as is.
