I'm not so sure about that one. When a game says it has innovative audio design, it usually has a good reason to back that uup. Killer instinct on xbox 1 and windows 10 for example has plenty of good reaso nto call itself innovative... not only is the soundtrack amazing, but the dynamic music engine in place is somethign that I've never seen executed in that way before. But I agree that most mainstream game design even those that claim stunning audio and the like, most certainly have something to be desired. Many of the audiogame community members don't play certain fighting games because well, if the sounds aren't in stereo then it's old fashioned and all that... but they forget that the focus is on the hand drawn graphics in some cases, and the end all focus is the gameplay... which, if it's solid, is what all the players will look for, especially in fighting games and other games which have competitive scenes. Not every company wants to load their fighting game up with stunning audio presentations because some just care more about how the game plays and want to focus on ironing that out, and the fruit of that effort shows. There's a reason Tekken has its own TV show in South Korea!
