@Dark: I do agree with you, and can see where you are coming from.
That's part of the reason that I'm re-reading the series--I've not read it in several years, I just remember thinking that book seven(near the end anyways) felt very rushed and a bit anticlimactic.
I also agree with you about the casual vacancy, and I'm hesitant to read any of her other stuff after that, though I may pluck up the courage eventually
Part of my thing with this series, is that I'm a big epic fantasy fan I.E. to the scope of Daniel Abraham, George R. R. Martin ETC, where the non-central characters are given a bit more screen-time if you will, and there are many different viewpoints that are used.
Whereas in HP(not that this is necessarily a bad thing), these other characters like Luna for example seem to be slightly glossed over.
