Regarding the lagging sound, that should be happening so as not to drown out the speech.
The only problem I could see is the app not opening on the first try. If that happens, press VO+Shift+M on the manamon app, then select open. A dialog box should appear. Just press the "open" or "Open anyway" button, and you should be good to go.
