Re: I'm leaving for now

When a thread made this morning has well over eighty posts? Tell me that's not drama.

When people who are not authorized to distribute a game, or call it their own, try to do so? Yeah, let's just call a spade a spade.

This is called apologism, Mason. You may not know the term but I'd be surprised if you don't know the concept. Don't make excuses for bad behaviour. It's still bad behaviour.

Let's let this die down, shall we?
The point here is that Sam has decided this is not a good place for him, and has left.
The point is that we are going to continue being very firm on people who distribute source code or games that are not approved.
The point is that we're doing everything we can to try and keep this community running. This means dealing with bugs we can't fix, dealing with some users who won't stop criticizing, and dealing with situations that just won't go the hell away. It's a pretty thankless job, let me tell you, but I'm still here and I'm still doing it. Same goes for the rest of us. That's the intention going forward, too, so you really have two good options at this point. Get on board and help us out, or stay out of the way and let us do what we're here for.
And for the love of crumbcake, stop disrespecting developers, either by insinuating that their mental health is fake or overblown, or by trying to use their source code without authorization, or by asking for their stuff when they decide to leave. Or by any of half a hundred other routes. Just stop.
If you know something is an unauthorized fork, don't play it. Encourage others to stop playing it. If you know someone who may be playing an unauthorized fork in true ignorance, enlighten them and encourage them to stop. If you yourself have been playing or sharing something that you legitimately did not know was an unauthorized fork, and someone sets you straight, then you have a moral obligation to stop playing and distributing immediately. If you fail to do these things when confronted with the opportunity, then like it or not, you are part of the problem and will be dealt with accordingly.
