I'm already familiar with the plethora of prototype jetpack experiments, part of that started back in the, ah, 1960s? Or that one from the russian inventor in1919. The same logistical and physics issues apply yes, higher altitudes mean less air pressure means less force and the engine efficiency drops. Its hard to say how much fuel economy to can get out of it at higher altitudes if you can achieve a coast mode, but there's likely going to be a good point of diminishing returns. Its likely going to have limited or specialized use cases, but its hard to say without more testing in those conditions.
