Douglas, is there any specific reason why you want beta 8? That version is from clear back in 2009 or so, was very buggy, and the latest version was like beta 22. So I'm a bit confused why in the world you would want such an old and buggy version of the game when newer and more stable releases of the game are available.
As to USA Games being dead that isn't true, but I do know why it seems like that. There is a lot going on in my life that isn't publicly known including medical issues, a divorce, and other things which has forced me to cut back on development and take time off. So USA Games isn't dead per se just currently inactive as I get my life back together.
As for not answering your mail unfortunately I have not received any mail from you regarding Mysteries of the Ancients. I can't reply to a message I have never personally received. What e-mail address did you send it to?
If perhaps you sent it to one of the USA Games addresses su
ch as sales or support that would explain why I have not received any of your messages. I've not been monitoring those addresses too closely the last few months due to the same reasons I have not been developing so an e-mail direct to my private address would get a response quicker than one of those business addresses.
As for the USA Games site itself I know it is terribly out of date and needs updated. It is on my things to do, and hopefully will be receiving some badly needed updates in the not to distant future along with some other projects I have in the works. Appearance of inactivity does not mean there is inactivity behind the scenes so to speak.
