I think that when someone goes offline, their ship should vanish from all methods of detection. This would make sure that only people who are online can attack others who are online, and remove the threat of defenseless, one-sited battles which the target has no way to retaliate until they recreate. I do agree with Danny that, while I have not been on the game much, deaths have gotten out of hand.
