Skunk, I think cliveb may be referring to the very small buffers on cd players (think discman) that are for reducing skipping. These buffers, however, only hold a few seconds of data. I think DAC's like the Lavry, DAC1, etc. are much more sophisticated about buffering and re-clocking, specifically designed to eliminate jitter. As you say, if clive were right, what would all the fuss be about, anyway? Edit: Damn!
