Egg carton coatings on the wall would be _too_ subtle. As Pfarrell
suggested in another thread, you need thicker material for lower
frequencies. They usually look like large tubes that sit in the
corners. Then there are the triangles which go in the ceiling corners,
even less subtle than the tubes.

Digital equalization would be the most subtle (visually) solution. Lots
of people here use the Behringer, or the Tact room correction equipment.
