What makes this system "dated"?  It uses IP based controllers to
control a centralized computer based audio source.  It's a mix of
conventional whole-house audio, which does whole-house a _lot_ better
than buying a pile of Squeezeboxes and amplifiers for every room and
getting often poorly synched playback, and computer based audio
sources.

It appears to be anything by poorly thought out.
