I'd add the CIAudio VDA2 (plus power supply) to your list of DACs to consider. I got mine on a months trial from the dealer here in the UK as I know you can direct from CIAudio in the US. I'm not as technical as most of the audiophiles here but my ears told me it was a big improvement (or should I say I prefered the sound!) compared to the onboard SB DAC. Good luck in your search!
