Cliveb -- You are exactly right regarding the nature of the hum. Although, I will say, with soft passages in a classical performance, the hum becomes more noticeable. It is much more annoying when no music is playing. (I am also a bit concerned whether there is a possibility of eventual damage to the speakers or the Nait.)
