I would disagree on several counts:

- Homeplug doesn't have latency problems. It will have about the same
as RTT as wifi.

- FEC's purpose is actually to _decrease_ latency by reducing the
number of retransmissions needed to recover lost data. It does this at
the expense of using some additional bandwidth. It's essentially
analogous to RAID.

- Latency per se is not a problem for streaming. Only in the presence
of packet loss is latency a problem, and even then, only large amounts
like you'd have over long distances across the internet.

- Homeplug is actually fine for streaming music. Wifi is cheaper and
more widely available, but Homeplug is a fine choice if you can't get a
good wireless signal.
