I would disagree on several counts: - Homeplug doesn't have latency problems. It will have about the same as RTT as wifi. - FEC's purpose is actually to _decrease_ latency by reducing the number of retransmissions needed to recover lost data. It does this at the expense of using some additional bandwidth. It's essentially analogous to RAID. - Latency per se is not a problem for streaming. Only in the presence of packet loss is latency a problem, and even then, only large amounts like you'd have over long distances across the internet. - Homeplug is actually fine for streaming music. Wifi is cheaper and more widely available, but Homeplug is a fine choice if you can't get a good wireless signal. -- seanadams ------------------------------------------------------------------------ seanadams's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39102 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
