Paul was interested in whether there was a 'better' ripper than iTunes, but he only had a Mac notebook, and he isn't really very confident at setting up computers/software anyway. I'm not very Apple literate, and I'm not at all familiar with alternative Apple ripping software, so the iTunes/Apple Lossless approach was the path of least resistance. I did tell him that iTunes had less error checking than EAC (which I use), but that I'd been told that iTunes worked fine for undamaged CDs. When I spoke to Hi-Fi+ about a year ago, they turned up their noses at the idea of 'computer audio' and asked me if I knew anything about the kind of people that bought their magazine! -- Patrick Dixon www.at-tunes.co.uk ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Patrick Dixon's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=90 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=39438 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/audiophiles
