It would surely be very interesting to compare the both units, side by side. Maybe they sound identical, but apparently the Duet receiver uses a different dac, with a different linedriver ( buffer ). Both the dac and buffer are Wolfson, integrated in one chip. This should sound different than the Burrbrown dac ( good ) and the mediocre NJM 2041 (buffer) used in SB3.
