Ripping to lossles is good for other reasons, namely transcoding to other formats when needed.
lossles to lossles when the current file format flavors go out of fashion (data migration is a problem). Or making mp3's for the car/portable which is much better lossles >lossy. Transcoding a lossy format to another lossy format is going to introduce artefacts and degrade soundquality, Ofcourse transcoding to the same formats is also bad, one mp3 bitrate to another mp3 bitrate. Don't buy lossy formats online, there are a few sources for flac files zunior boomkat magnatune and others. One should encourage the industry to sell lossles and DRM free.
