John - thank you for the insight. I've installed a Tent XO driven by a DIY Vreg and now a SuperTeddyReg in the receiver. Both were better than stock but quantifying the improvement by ear is impossible (for me, at least). I envy you your HP analyzer.
Phil - thank you for the excellent description of what ADM can do. Option 2 sounds really interesting as that's where the rubber meets the road. CD data in, noise and distortion out. ;-) I also appreciate your comment re "improvement" vs. "change". I'm fighting that tendency now.
