There's an important distinction between ABX and ADM tests.

ADM reveals whether there are any differences above the detection
threshold of the recording device you are using. If there are, you still
get into the debate of whether those differences might be audible. And
if there aren't, some "golden ears" will simply say that your recording
device's detection threshold isn't low enough. You can't win.

ABX on the other hand reveals whether there are differences above the
detection threshold of the human listener. And when that listener is the
golden ear who, prior to failing an ABX test, has pronounced that the
differences are "night and day", he has nowhere to hide. Except to diss
the whole methodology.
