ADM reveals whether there are any differences above the detection threshold of the recording device you are using. If there are, you still get into the debate of whether those differences might be audible. And if there aren't, some "golden ears" will simply say that your recording device's detection threshold isn't low enough. You can't win. ABX on the other hand reveals whether there are differences above the detection threshold of the human listener. And when that listener is the golden ear who, prior to failing an ABX test, has pronounced that the differences are "night and day", he has nowhere to hide. Except to diss the whole methodology. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=74721 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
