If I'm understanding this correctly, you've modified your room to make
it bigger and now things sound a bit "lifeless"?

I'm afraid the only cure for this is:
1) more efficient speakers, with more bass capability to drive the
enlarged room properly
2) a bigger, beefier amp (but only after 1 above)
3) an external DAC like the new MF M1 (but only after 2 above)

So, start with the speakers. Go to a shop - have a listen. You are
driving a bigger volume of air now so you NEED more muscle in the
speaker department to recapture the sound you had before.

I'd look at floorstanders - Tannoy Mercury Custom F4 maybe? or Q
Acoustics 2050?

Your Wharfedales are only 86dB/W... The Tannoys at 91dB/W are nearly
twice as effective at driving the same room space!
