MAD is a decoder for mp3 claiming superior decoding due to using high accurately 24bit and is build into the device. Using lame as decoder is said to be of less quality.
Not that it really matters. I bet people will hear lame on server streamed as wav is better then MAD native cause of CPU load ;) Next step is MAD decode on server...
