Once again audiophiles are getting hit in their wallet. HDTracks
announced this week that high resolution downloads of the remastered
Abkco Rolling Stones recordings are now available. Prices: $19.98 for
24bit/88.2kHz and $29.98 for 24bit/176kHz with a 10% discount being
offered. Do the math $19.98 minus $2.00 discount comes to $17.98, which
is the price HDTracks currently charges for their 24bit/88.2kHz
downloads. Once the 10% discount expires HDTracks will have, in effect,
raised their prices by $2.00 Ouch!

And this is 40+ year old records which have released countless times
over the years.

HDTracks makes in very clear that for most, if not all, companies
selling products to audiophiles, be it equipment or music, audiophile =
cash cow.
