Sorry I thought you were saying it would be better than your modified touch, and I was just saying that I couldn't see why it necessarily would. Why not just use your new laptop with the touch you have already. Then use the touch's S/PDIF output into your DAC. Apologies if i am being obtuse- perhaps there is a sound reason why the SpDIF output of the V-LINk will be appreciably better that that of the touch.
