Volume control of an active system is NORMALLY never a problem... it is done in the pre-amp that drives the XO (or in the source if you don't have a pre-amp)... in your proposed server-side system this would have to be done digitally with synced SB volume controls (This aspect is entirely possible today) -- Phil Leigh You want to see the signal path BEFORE it gets onto a CD/vinyl...it ain't what you'd call minimal...
