It is possible to measure whether or not there is a change and also
whether or not the change takes us closer to or ofurther away from the
sound as described by the bits. Better or worse are subjective terms
and no one can measure those. 

I won't get time to do any measurements for at least 4 weeks. 

I do think that ultimately it is important to understand WHY these mods
impact the sound, as this may lead us to better sounding systems in the
future.
