think these are my final settings Squeezeserver on core 1,2,3 priority real time, i/o high and same with svchost.exe (netsvcs) which is the MMCSS process everything else on core 0, priority idle, i/o very low apart from
these windows processes which are all priority normal and i/o normal on core 0 svchost.exe (dcomlaunch),svchost.exe (localservicenetworkrestricted),svchost.exe (networkservice) moving svchost.exe (netsvcs) to high priority gives a greater overall level of detail with some perceived reduction in Bass, don't know if this is a comparitive effect, but happy with this tradeoff. Now have only 3 network related processes at normal priority. Also have put a choke on the switched supply to the laptop to try and reduce any noise further. next thing is an Audiocomm superclock 4 upgrade for my Dac1. -- SBGK ------------------------------------------------------------------------ SBGK's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52003 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93257 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
