Quad are you using a mike correction ? different corrections for horizontal and vertical positions ? According to the previously referenced tread http://www.diyaudio.com/forums/multi-way/119164-ecm8000-orientation-speaker-measurements.html , the FR response varies a lot. In vertical position there is a very sharp drop above 10 kHz when in horizontal there is a bump!
