And "audiophiles" (used in the original sense and not in the audiophool sense) also care deeply about the music itself, the artists, the relationships across artists and genres, etc. And roon has a very nice interaction with databases that provide a rich source of information about artists/albums/tracks that typically far exceeds what one finds in their own metadata tags. But I agree, none of this changes the fact that roon and LMS can both provide bitperfect output to my DAC. I'm having fun testing roon a bit but I'm also a bit bothered with their forum, which contains way too much audiophool postings (e.g., I hear more "air" and "dimension" in playback with ver 1.2 of roon vs. ver 1.1 of roon).
