Black cars are a couple of degrees hotter than white ones on hot days but not much. The problem is the heat gets in thru' the windows but can't get out again --I believe glass is relatively impermeable to the infra-red part of the spectrum. You will find that the boot stays cooler than the interior of the car regardless of color, especially in bright sunshine.
