The skeptic in me takes that with a grain of salt too. Not only are "major international corporations and organizations" no more qualified to issue opinions on this stuff than I am (or Mike Borgelt is), they're also being transparent enough about it to wear their motivations on their sleeves. Corporations have recently fallen in love with climate change because it means they get to sell a whole new class of climate-friendly widgets. If you're General Electric or Rolls Royce, you'd be jumping for joy over the notion that airlines will be pressured to replace all their jet engines and power companies will be pressured to buy new clean electricity generating systems. And if you're Citibank or HSBC you'd be looking forward to margin trading in global emissions markets every bit as much as you look forward to margin trading on futures markets. The presence of a market causes profits to spring into existence from the vapour. It isn't hard to see why the companies that stand to make out like bandits from those nascent markets might be all lining up to write glowing appraisals about them. - mark -------------------------------------------------------------------- I tried an internal modem, [EMAIL PROTECTED] but it hurt when I walked.
