I've been getting quite a few email about the website being down, this is
due to *"one and one" *being the worst hosting provider, domain registrar
and technical support in the world.

The website is still running just under the .com only for now, the
.co.ukdomains will be restored soon.

*What's the problem with one and one? and why the change you may ask?*

*1. Firewalls*
I use my hosting space for a lot of work and a fair bit of traffic via http
and ftp. I started an upload of about 1GB of files and then found myself
firewalled on their servers. Took 4 days to get it fixed, tried the upload
again with settings in the ftp client they said their servers need and same
again. 20 days later same problem! I sent an email to support and they just
came back with a couple of reasons why it's happening, which is what I
stated to them in the original email.

*2. Technical support*
I call the technical support, (quite a quick response time for picking up
the phone). I've had phone conversations stating, your IP address is blocked
via ftp and http (my IP is fixed), please wait 4 hours and try again.
Waited, no change, call again, new quoted time, waited, no change (repeat a
lot).

So after all the above I had urgent work to preview to clients so purchased
a new host with the .com and moved everything to that. But the problems
didn't end there...

*3. Sales at one and one - An attempt to cancel and transfer domain via
telephone (online app error'd)*
Have you ever called sales department at one and one? No? Don't try to, they
don't pick up the phone, option 2 is tech support option 1 is sales. I've
never had them pick up. So I was unable to cancel my hosting packages and
domains via telephone.

*4. An attempt to cancel and transfer domain via email** (online app
error'd)*
After a few days and a few emails requesting the cancellation of all
services from them and some .co.uk domain name updates they email me with go
to their accounts website and login. The reason I was trying to go via
telephone and/or email is because the online system failed and gave me an
error which I stated in the emails.

*5. I actually get to talk to someone about cancellation and domain
transfers*
After a lot of emails, I finally get a number to call to talk to someone to
sort this out. I explain to them cnames, name servers and that I want no
accounts left with one and one, only to find that both .co.uk domains go
down. So now I call technical support and email at the same time with all
the details and help pages from my new provider on how to do this. Email
response is log into the accounts application and change there which results
in an error and technical supports advice was the same, I said it errors and
they said they will sort it.

and finally after all that, I start to receive more responses from support
saying why I've been firewalled! lol

I am in the process of moving away from them, you can visit the site on the
.com till the .co.uk domain names are back online so any of your saved links
will still work once I have contacted nominet.
