My maternal grandparents are listed in the book. (DeMello's second book) They
are from Madeira. I have gone to the Family History Center and ordered the film
of the births of my GFather and GMother 1870-1875 looking for a baptism or
birth record. Nothing that I could recognize. I have a woman in Hawaii who is
employed by the Roman Catholic Church in the State of Hawaii who is presently
searching for their marriage certificate and she works in the Chancellory
Office. I was told many records were lost because of a church fire in either
Kahului or Makawao many years ago.

You can't purchase it. Unless you find a used copy on Ebay maybe. You can
order the microfiche from your Family History Center and copy each page. There
are people on this list and Mel's Hawaiian Routes (Island Routes) list that can
do look ups for you though.
