Sometimes I begin to think that some of our relatives were "under the witness
protection program". There is absolute nothing of their backgrounds.

Dolores,

My Great Grandparents are also from Sao Jorge and I have not been able to find
out anything on them either.  Not coming into this country or the children
being born.  Have not found anything yet on the Sao Jorge records yet either.
They just appeared in San Luis Obispo, San Jose, Oakland, Santa Clara and
Hanford.  It is a big mystery.  I'll keep searching maybe something will show
up sometime.  I am sure we all have some of the same stories about our Azorean
Relatives.  I thought your story about what your grand mother said was cute.

Sincerely,  Vivian (Silva) Christy

I understand your search.  My Great Grandparents from Sao Jorges, seem to have
"spontaneously generated" in 1880 onto Commercial Street in Boston with three
children.  No records before that of any of them anywhere-including the three
children that I'm about 99.9999999999999% sure were born in the US. I joke with
my family that we just materialized from the Gods and Royalty, like my
Grandmother always implied. Good Luck.  I work for Temple University's Library,
so I have access to a number of resources.  Let me know if you need any help-it
may be a long shot, but we may have it, or at least access to it.
