Betty; There are Moura's in Sao Pedro and Santo Espirito on Santa Maria
that I am related to. If you ever make a connection to those lines, please,
get back to me. Sam in Ca

Hi Shirley, Betty V., and Sam,

Thank you. I wish there were more discussions on the MOURA name.
(In US census records I've also seen MORA.)

If some of the MOURA's were in CA ~1900-1940, and my "Frank" MOURA
didn't arrive till the 1920's, perhaps he had relatives in Alameda
County and that is why he moved there.

I've been on the Azores List for 4-5 years, and researchers there have
mentioned a few times that my MOURA's probably came from Santa
Maria. I've never followed through with that.

Betty (near Lowell, MA, USA)

(P.S. During our "lean years" (before we met), I called them "air
sandwiches" (nothing between the 2 pieces of bread). My husband says
he called them "sandwishes" (wishing that there was something
between the 2 pieces of bread).)

falling out between the Moura and the Pimentel families and they stopped
speaking .

from  Pico but I have no idea what island the others came from. Frank
Pimentel had brothers Joe and Enos. these families all lived all their lives
in Niles and Decoto. I hope some out there is connected to these Mouras and
is willing to share their info with me,
