Hi Leslie

Welcome to the wonderful world of Azorean genealogy! It sounds as if
you have some good info on this family. But, it might be helpful to
you to start from the beginning ..... your late husband. Write down
everything you know, his parent's names, dates and places. Then, you
gradually work your way back in time. It is always easier and
generally gets better results if you do it this way instead of jumping
right in to the great grandparents.

Also, I would like to direct you to my web site, the Azores GenWeb.
The link is below. It was designed primarily to help folks such as
yourself that are new to Azorean genealogy. You will find lots of info
and advice on how to get started there. There is a Paleography to help
you decipher the written language, lists of important words you will
find in records, maps of each island with links to the available
online records, How-to documents, Tips on getting started, and much
more. Don't worry about not being good with the language. With a
little practice, and knowing what to look for, you will be able to
read the records as you find them in no time!

Good luck and happy hunting!
