Thanks Cheri, Rosalina Silveira would be my Great Grandmother. The mother of my Grandfather Thomas S. Bettencourt. I'm going to have to search more for dates. I am guessing she lived around 1792 , but how do I get that information. I am a complete novice here. I even need to search for the birth of my Grandfather and his death. I believe Thomas's father was Father John Bettencourt oriiginally from France to the island. of Pico. I do have a photo of him. He was a priest. My Grandfather loved him dearly and always said he was a very kind man. I believe Thomas had four siblings who all came to this country. I have visited the house where Senora Rosilina lived. It was then owned by a man named Freitas. They invited us in for wine and sweetbread. It was lovely. That is all I know about that side of the family.
