Hi Deanna, Yes, start with the generations closest to you and work back. Get your grandfather's vitals first. He may be listed as Tomas Bettencourt. When do you think he was born? Early 1800s, around the 1820s or 1830s? Where did he die and when?
I don't know which country you are referring to when you say "this country" since there are list members all over the world.
