Here is the bad news about Portugal records online at Familysearch.org:
My local Family History Center Director called Family Search and talked with someone who deals with the Historical Records collection. She told me "I learned that the Portugal records online at Family Search are restricted to LDS accounts for viewing online. That includes from a family history center computer. It is a result of the agreement between Family Search and the Portuguese government. The restriction exists at the insistence of the Portuguese government. Family Search is making as many records available to the public as possible." Some of these record collections are available as FHC films to order, but apparently these are the same ones that have long been available, the newer records don't seem to be included.
