Pam, it's my understanding that if you purchased Mac 3.1 (a Software MacKiev product) you can download FTM 2017 for free. I was using Mac 3.0 (still an Ancestry product) and had to pay about $29 for 2017, which, as software goes, is a bargain. Why not check it out. If you can get 2017 for free, you have nothing to lose. For what it's worth, I like it! There are some new features, like color coding, which allows you to assign colors to each of your family lines--or assign the colors any way you like. Syncing with Ancestry can be problematic, but I think the problem is on Ancestry's side. With 2017, you can sync more than one tree, and that works out great for me.
