I upgraded after backing everything up. A couple of things I've noticed.
#1 When installing I did not want FTM to check Family Search.org records
automatically so I unchecked that. But, I can still select check Family
Search.org if I choose. Sometimes the web search feature doesn't check the
area I have checked when it comes to foreign databases. Even though you
can designate ALL COLLECTIONS, you can't necessarily look specifically for
say an area like Slovakia. The search comes back to US records. I can
search certain areas of the UK, Europe etc but the list isn't complete.
Also, when making some changes in FTM to people, the screen will not show
the changes momentarily...instead you get incomplete names and it appears
that you have deleted very valuable information. I exited the program and
came back in and my facts and people would appear normal. A little scary.
But, as with any upgrade there will be issues. Just remember to backup
before you install and after important changes you want to be sure to save.
Keep the backup on both your computer but also on an external drive or
thumb drive.
