Hi Diane DM, Since you have the Civil Registrations of Jose's birth, there will be no baptism date or godparents. You'd need to look at the Catholic baptisms online to find his baptism date (if they were Catholic) and godparents: https://tombo.pt/en/d/acores Just search for the freguesia (village) in the left column.
I'm not sure what the guy meant when he recorded the parents' ages. The first link is for the birth of a Jose Pereira de Resendes. He's born at 10pm on 12 March 1898 in Faial da Terra. He's the son of Jose Pereira de Resendes, age 54, and of Emilia Pacheco da Costa, age 60! Must be their ages when this certificate was issued in 1920. Paternal grands: Pai incognito (father unknown) and Maria Pereira de Mello and maternal grands Jose da Costa and Maria Pacheco. You have Maria right. She was born at 5 pm on the 16 of Feb 1902. Her godparents were Jose Moniz de Rezendes, single and the crown of Our Lady.
