For initial transfers, rsync is notably slower than tar or the like (I don't remember how Bacula does it). After the initial transfers tho, it should get faster. If you're still seeing this slowness after a couple of transfers, there probably is a deficiency in BackupPC's programming (or maybe you just have a wierd corner case). Have you tried setting up BackupPC to use tar (or smbtar) rather than rsync for your transfers? -- Carl Soderstrom Systems Administrator Real-Time Enterprises www.real-time.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Site24x7 APM Insight: Get Deep Visibility into Application Performance APM + Mobile APM + RUM: Monitor 3 App instances at just $35/Month Monitor end-to-end web transactions and take corrective actions now Troubleshoot faster and improve end-user experience.
