For a perspective from outside of Thailand, I think it would make
sense to consider postponing the event.  If you move ahead with the
current date, I think it would be hard to get participants or sponsors
from outside of Thailand.  I, myself, am reconsidering attending due
to the current state of the unrest.

If there is no cost to postpone, why not do so and choose a date when
we know there will not be any possible danger to attendees or
participants.
