Gen mentioned that Mozilla is not really keen on sponsoring an event at this time because they can't attend with the turmoil. Yahoo has committed to sponsoring and will keep the commitment, but they can't send people either; Yahoo has a ban on company travel to Thailand. Google has Google IO that weekend, so nobody from Google will attend, though they still have not gotten back to me about sponsorship. I don't think that we will get many out-of-town visitors for that date--and having a mix of people from many places and perspectives is really nice to have. I agree, May 22-23 is a great date in general, but events are making it look like it might not be the best time to have a Barcamp. Even if there is a quick resolution to the current flare-up, the political situation is not going to be stable for a while. What are your opinions people? Should we wait until the political situation clears up? The other alternative is a smaller, local Barcamp and then we put more effort and resources into a bigger one later this year. I can ask Sripatum if there is a data in June we can reschedule for, of if we have a small Barcamp there in May, can we also have a bigger Barcamp at Sripatum later in the year. -- John -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Barcamp Thailand" group. ... -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Barcamp Thailand" group.
