I think you are confusing the features in 2.0 with 1.x, initialization in 1.x
is just to
get the signatures working. You will not see any stats of the cluster in the web
interface[1] you only see the stats of the host you are connected to.

Then I have some other issue going on. I am not able to get stats from
my local node (I do get system stats). The node only appears if I
initialize from the command line, but stays in a red state.
